Minimum wage jobs don't pay enough to survive on - b*** about all the people on food stamps. Workers strike for better pay so they don't have to go on food stamps - 'what nerve, these jobs aren't SUPPOSED to pay a living wage!'*

Get a college degree, end up in debt - 'nobody forced you, why didn't you think ahead?' Don't go to college - 'what kind of job do you expect to find without a bachelor's degree?'

Get an education in a general ('artsy-fartsy') field like English or Psych - 'should have specialized in a trade, look at all the cow fence welding companies that can't find employees.' Have super specific skills, lose your job and can't find another in your field - 'shouldn't have narrowed yourself down like that.'

Live in the city - 'that's your problem right there, should move to a place with a lower cost of living.' Live in the countryside - 'that's what you're doing wrong, move to a place with more opportunity.'

And, in the end, the winningest argument of them all: 'Check out this one person who started out poor but somehow managed to end up with a comfortable living. It's not completely impossible, therefore we won't hear about how insanely difficult it is.
