>How do we fight back against the crypto-tards?
Don't, it's not worth the effort. Focus on creating novel (non-currency) applications of blockchain technology instead.

>>9736Hence why I said to focus on
creating ones. I find it hard to believe that there just aren't any useful applications beyond memebucks.

Convince me why I should use a scammy centralized pile of shit like PayPal, which doesn't work in at least dozens of countries and isn't bound by any banking laws and therefore can get away with outright robbery, that constantly steals money from their customers on a daily basis by permanently locking their accounts due to made-up allegations of "suspicious activity" or they don't approve of what they do, instead of a decentralized cryptocurrency like Bitcoin Cash.

We don't need to create anything when GNU Taler already exists.

There are free alternatives to this crap OP. I think we need to push PeerTube more and stop using anything else.
>>9737There's no proof that there aren't any good uses for blockchain, but at the moment, there are none.
This is a good criticism of blockchain.

>>9742it's a false dichotomy only if comparing random pyramid scheme shitcoins to paypal, but if you want to buy anything on the internet, and don't want to use a bank card (or don't have one), then cryptocurrencies are the way to go. They have a legitimate use here, mostly though for buying stuff you don't want traced. Not even just drugs. Also it's just effective for internet transactions. If you use monero, it's reasonably fast and anonymous. Way better than handing a website your whole bank card credentials and full name and address. I think that's pretty fucked and how you get your shit stolen or leaked when there's a hack of a service you use

You could call IPFS "blockchain based", I think thats a pretty good application. I also use Monero to buy drugs lol
