I think Telegram was one of the places where many videos from Gaza were published. And the Zionists don't like having their genocide under democratic scrutiny.
I think they're the most upset about real-time news because that's creating political pressure while it's happening and it makes it harder to continue doing the genocide.
They want to go back to the time when the information about their mass-murder campaigns only became accessible after the fact when it's too late to stop it.
The other thing, they worry about is accountability, they are worried they might not get away with killing like 100k people (guesstimating the death-toll in Gaza).
They think controlling the media influences that. IMHO that is incorrect. These are political crimes and it depends on who's in power. The most likely reason the Gaza-genocide-gang and their accomplices end up in front of a firing-squat, is because the current regime in Israel sets off a regional war that they loose badly. Loosing big wars is the fastest way of loosing political power. In that case it doesn't matter how much they censor the media or intimidate journalism during the happening, because loosing political power means all that was censored get released after, and then the hammer drops anyway. This is how it's been with most atrocities in history, that were legally prosecuted, and media coverage (or lack thereof) during the happening had little influence on the outcome.
They're also miscalculating politically, if they don't persecute journalists, peace-activists, human-rights-activists and so on, they're likely to get off easy, because people will care more about setting up state-hood for Palestinians and repairing what's been damaged then seeking revenge. As long as they don't violate the democratic rights of people in the west there's no personal incentive to pursue retribution. All the people who do have personal incentives to seek brutal punishment can't really get at them, because they live in places that have no influence on western governments. But if they terrorize the people in the west they're going to incentivize large numbers of people who can get at them.
>>484453Telegram wasn't very good from a technical perspective so it would be nice if the opportunity was taken to level up, but if past platform-migrations are an indication, it's most likely going to be a Telegram clone, with minor adaptations that reflect the new conditions.
