That's it. We as a society have peaked when this show came out. It was all downhill from there.

This show is what comes up in my mind when I think of the dirtbag left. It's not preachy, not "woke," not anti-white, not misandrist. But most importantly, it portrays black Americans as human beings with realistic flaws that you can relate to or at least understand. This show would not have come out the same today because it wasn't above criticizing the African-American community, it wasn't afraid of calling out real sexism and homophobia within it, it wasn't afraid of criticizing the glorification of the thug lifestyle within the black youth and it ruthlessly mocked Black "Entertainment" Television for stupifying black masses. The show, created by a black communist, was constantly censored for offending white liberal sensibilities. But it also made fun of racism too and showed just how ridiculous it was with the character of Uncle Ruckus. Not only that, but it had a brilliant episode that humanizes gay people (must-watch for conservatives) Nothing was safe from MacGruder's critique. There was even an episode about R. Kelly's trial that criticized celebrity worship. The show arguably predicted radlibs even, with other people attacking Huey for merely being apathetic to elections.

While this show can be compared to South Park, the two shows have very different vibes to them. While South Park revelled in its mockery The Boondocks had a sad and depressing feel to its satire. It's like the author wanted to make a real change but felt as if he was powerless to do so. This really shows the difference between a leftist satire and a centrist one. MacGruder is like a combination of Huey and Caesar: he wants to remain Caesar, an optimistic revolutionary, but he inevitably returns to being Huey, a jaded leftcom.

Nah, that's Mr. Birchum or Family Gay's new seasons.

Trey & Matt are unironically propertarians and would regularly slip Libertarian morals into episodes.

I don't think this affects their satire that much. Compare that to, I dunno, Atlas Shrugged.
>would regularly slip Libertarian morals into episodes
Their morals aren't that different from the supporters of Barack Obama really.

There's an episode which just ends with Kyle or whoever explaining that Starbucks is the biggest company because it has the best product.
>Their morals aren't that different from the supporters of Barack Obama really.
Didn't they have an entire running gag which was basically "global warming is fake"?

Honestly, that's not that far off from what a centrist would say. It's cringe but it's true. Weird, shouldn't lolberts be against big corporations?
>Didn't they have an entire running gag which was basically "global warming is fake"?
Did they?
