When dancing was a thing I used to listen to reggaeton. Some of the shit said there is wild. It's changing though. Like it or not, the major artists like Bad Bunny, Ozuna, J Balvin are changing the usual lyrical trash content of reggeaton. Bad bunny, the most important reggeaton artist of the second wave, even put out a really good trans validation video, "Yo perreo sola".

I only got into them a few years ago after finding an old tape and realizing that I love old synth/technopop (which is a kind of sound that's more noticeable in their early albums). If you don't like that genre, maybe that's why you don't like 'em? Although, to be fair, I already liked some of their songs when I was little.
On the other hand, their more popular songs are from later albums, most notably Entre el cielo y el suelo, and boring/overrated as fuck compared to their earlier music, imo. If you like synthpop, perhaps you've only listened to their later stuff.
