Declining birth rates or the demographics crisis is strictly a capitalist phenomenon. Anthropology will show that never in history has demographics been the cause of a declining society ever. The evidence shows that highly stratified societies are what led to stagnation and societal collapse beyond just invasion or war or natural catastrophe. Over and over again as societies have grown stronger and stronger you saw the rise of a highly stratified society with a small class at the top owning everything and poor toiling for very little.

History has shown that the demographics question is uniquely a capitalist issue with even economists during the industrial revolution coming up with Malthusian economics. It’s particularly unique to industrial capitalism since capitalism requires growth and a growing population is required to continue to absorb the ever increasing number of commodities coming to market.

Are their people who actually think birthrates matter outside of a capitalist system? Even in the industrial revolution and WW2 people knew that it was specifically because of capitalism that birthrates were important.

sorry i posted the wrong video, i forget which one it is so im probably butchering cockshotts point, but basically labour supply had a big impact on changes in the mode of production and relations of production
so for example the roman transition from slave economy into semifeudal economy was driven by a reduction in the supply of cheap slave labor as the reached its limits of imperial conquest
another example is that the supply of peasant labour would bottom out due to landlords increasing exploitation making it harder to support large families, creating competition between nobles over limited surplus that would lead to crises which killed or drove the peasants off the land
